Tally Out Guide

Start

Use the App navigation on your device

Navigate to the Tally Out App by clicking the icon

Choose your Input System

  1. Click the Options Cog Icon button in the upper right

  2. -For Each Species, Board Class, or Barcode system, choose whether you would like the slower/easier Names (Dropdown) method or the faster/slightly more difficult Numbers method

    -Numbers are more difficult to begin with because they require some light memorization of the numbers that were set for your company in regards to Species, Board Class etc. Number inputs are considerably faster though

  3. If you've decided, click the Home icon and then the Tally In Icon

Create a Pack

  • A sufficient number of packs should be created to cover all possible lumber being input

  • One should have packs for each length, species, thickness, and grade/class combination

  • It's even best to create packs for center wood like cants, mats or ties and record them as well
  • You can have multiple Thicknesses and Board Classes/Grades go into a single pack
  1. Click the New Pack button

  2. Change Location, Species number, all the board class/grades, minimum/maximum lengths and thicknesses

  3. Click the Add Pack Button

Edit a Pack

  1. Click the Edit button for the pack on the far right of the pack line

  2. -Change the information as needed

    -If you changed your mind click the X in the upper right corner

  3. If you’re certain, Click the Save Pack Button

Complete/Repeat a Pack

  1. When a pack is complete and you need to continue entering boards, click the lock button for the pack

  2. Click the copy button and Boards will no longer go to the previous pack and instead will start going to the new pack

Pack Barcode

  1. Click the Edit button for the pack on the far right of the pack line

  2. Click the scan button and align your device camera over the barcode, the upc line should fill up

  3. Click the stop button when needed

  4. If everything seems correct, Click the Save Pack Button

Delete A Pack

  1. Click the Edit button for the pack on the far right of the load line

  2. -Review the Information and be certain you want to delete

    -If you changed your mind, click the X in the upper right corner

  3. If you’re certain, Click the Delete Pack Button

Add Boards to a Pack

  1. Click the New Board button

  2. -If you’ve chosen number inputs, you need only input two numbers and the next item will be chosen

    -Example: Start at Species
    • If the species number is 1, you enter 01
    • The next section, Board Class, will automatically be tabbed
    • Continue until you've entered the Surface measure

  3. -Click the Add Board Button

    -The board will be located in whichever pack it was set up for

  4. The previous entries stay and you simply edit them for the new board and repeat the process

In this manner, if all your sizes are 12' length, pallet class, White Oak species, you won't have to continuously enter that over and over for each board

  1. Click the Edit button for the pack on the far right of the pack line

  2. Click the board you wish to edit (you may have to scroll through them)

  3. -Change the information as needed

    -If you changed your mind click the X in the upper right corner

  4. -If you’re certain, Click the Save Board Button

    -Confirm your submission

  5. Click the Save Pack Button

Delete A Board

  1. Click the Edit button for the pack on the far right of the pack line

  2. Click the board you wish to delete (you may have to scroll through them)

  3. -If you changed your mind click the X in the upper right corner

    -If you’re certain, Click the Delete Board Button

    -Confirm your submission

  4. Click the Save Pack Button
